The Life of Steve Jobs

For four decades, Steve Jobs has managed to remain at the forefront in creating new product and service proposals in the technological world, characterized by their finished design and elegant interface.

Together with Steve, Wozniak founded Apple Computers in 1976 and, at the end of the 70s, the company presented the series of computers Apple, a fledgling team that was trying to win the market beyond amateur users and with which it gained the attention of the technological world.

Years later, and after the impact caused by the launch of IBM with its PC based on the Microsoft operating system, Apple presented the Macintosh, preceded by a spectacular advertising advertisement that in 1984 emulated the aesthetics of George Orwell's work.

However, in 1985 the company it had founded was dissolved. would be in charge of firing him, after a series of bids with Mike Sculley, an executive that Jobs hired from Pepsi.

From then on, Jobs would begin a period of twelve years where he founded NeXt Computers, responsible for the development of the NeXTSTEP operating system, predecessor of the current Mac OS. As a curiosity, one of his teams hosted the first website in history.

Likewise, he co-founded and was CEO of Pixar, one of the most prominent animation companies in the film industry, known for being the creator of Toy Story, Finding Nemo and The Incredibles, among other titles. In 2006 it was acquired by Disney, where he is a member of the board of directors.

His return to Apple in 1997 was marked by the task of reconverting the company he had founded, which was in critical condition due to economic losses. He bet on the design of his new line of computers with a colorful design, baptized as iMac, an iconic name that would serve as a starting point for the creation of new product lines that would make the firm the most valuable brand on the market a decade later.

His next coup was the launch in 2001 of the iPod device, a device that was dubbed the successor to Sony's Walkman. Although there was already an offer of equipment that played digital formats such as MP3, Apple incorporated a content platform called iTunes. Ten years after its launch, the digital device sold 320 million units worldwide.

After a leave of absence due to pancreatic cancer in 2004 that kept him away from the company, in his first absence from Apple since 1997, he redoubled the bet by taking the company to a growing segment of the market such as cell phones, and burst in in 2007 with the presence of the iPhone, a device with a fluid interface based on a touch-sensitive screen.

Health problems were present again in recent years, where he had to be absent from Apple due to a liver transplant in 2009. However, despite his convalescence, this prevented him from remaining linked to the development of what would be his last major milestone in the industry, the iPad tablet in January 2010.

Even when he announced his retirement for an indefinite period, he was able to be present at the launch of the second version of the tablet in March of this year and at the Apple developers conference in the middle of the year, in what would be his last public appearance.
