Apple claimed that the Galaxy S was very similar to the iPhone 3GS, and that Samsung had also copied the design of the tablet, the box in which the equipment is sold and more.

Apple demanded $2.5 billion for this, while Samsung claimed just over $500 million, arguing that Apple had violated patents related to the operation of the 3G.

The cross lawsuits did not involve models later, such as the iPhone 4 or the Galaxy SII.

According to the jury, Apple did not violate Samsung's patents, while the latter abused its monopoly position with regard to 3G technology, while revalidating Apple's patents regarding the design and appearance of its equipment. However, according to the jury there was no patent violation of the iPad tablet.

Earlier today the South Korean Justice had blocked the sale of the equipment of both companies in that country.
