This increase in searches for pornographic content on the web is a phenomenon that is occurring worldwide and the OIA has translated these statistics for the first time at a local level in Argentina.
In terms of Internet searches, pornographic content is unrivaled. There is no competition, at least in Argentina.
For a few hours, when the exchange rate was lifted on December 17, the dollar experienced an increase in its price. However, the Pokémon Go phenomenon managed to surpass searches for pornographic content when it was launched in the country on August 1. However, the next day, interest in watching pornography already surpassed hunting for Pokémon.

Percentages
In Argentina, 8 out of 10 people consume pornography through different mobile devices sporadically.
In terms of gender, the gap is short: 93% of men and 71% of women consume pornography, with the majority, close to 50%, sporadically. However, for 20% of those surveyed, it is a weekly habit.
Frequency and devices
Although 45% of searches are sporadic, it is still a high percentage.
As for the devices used, PCs and smartphones predominate.
Porn vs. Policy
On two occasions, pornographic content surpassed the number of political-related searches.
This happened on the day of the ballot and on November 22, as well as on the day of the presidential inauguration.
Porn vs. Sport
One of the few exceptions is sport, especially during World Cup periods. Even the search trend for the Olympics did not surpass interest in pornographic content.
Maradona tied with porn on April 19, 2004, the day of his hospitalization, while Messi could not overcome the interest in pornographic content this year, even when he announced his resignation from the national team.
They also consume
It is also important to note that women also consume pornographic content. There are cases of women who admit without shame to watching pornography on their smartphones occasionally. Furthermore, they acknowledge that it is very easy to find sexual content on their partner's phones, which is shared daily in WhatsApp groups.
