Samsung presented the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, at the beginning of the year, so it is expected to do the same in 2016 with the Galaxy S7.
The proximity of the congress (it starts on February 22) that manufacturers take advantage of to reveal their main bets on mobile phones for the year means that rumors begin to circulate.
Samsung will once again bet on a large family, with various sizes and screen types. The launch would include four models: S7 and S7 Edge, with rounded edges, and S7 Plus and S7 Edge Plus, with a larger display.
3D Touch Sensor
The Wall Street Journal assured that Samsung will follow in the footsteps of Huawei and Apple.
This is because the Huawei Mate S and the iPhone 6S have a screen capable of triggering functions depending on the force the user uses with their fingers when touching it.
On the iPhone, for example, the user can access a menu by holding down the icon of some applications. In the Mate S, in addition to being able to use it as a scale, the user is able to access the details of an object within a photo.
The screen of the Huawei Mate S triggers functions depending on the pressure to which it is subjected by the fingers.
Other important details would confirm the rumors of:
- a new camera, with similar characteristics to the current 16-megapixel camera, but without the slight overlap that the S6 lens has. The updated optics in the device would also allow for better quality photos in low light conditions.
- microSD cards are back, but only in models with a flat screen.
