With the CES over, the Barcelona Mobile Congress is approaching and cell phones are once again taking center stage. Last week, Samsung gave details about the date of arrival on the market of the successor to its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5.
And now the specialized site SamMobile revealed what would be the definitive specifications of the device, called to continue the battle against Apple's iPhone and the army of devices with Android that are expected for this year.
Approximate Price
According to SamMobile, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will have two versions: one in plastic that will cost €650 and another in metal, with a price of €800. These would be final prices, without the subsidy from the operators.
Equipment
Likewise, SamMobile details that the Samsung Galaxy S5, successor to the S4 presented in March 2013, will have a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels, and speculates that the SuperAMOLED screen will be 5.25 inches. Its camera will be 16 MP and it will have a 16 megapixel hardware optical image stabilizer and would house 3Gb of RAM. It will have Android 4.4 KitKat, the latest version of Google's mobile operating system.
As for the processor, it is speculated that the phone will have an Exynos processor in version 6, along with an edition with the Snapdragon 805 chip, superior to the one present in the Samsung Galaxy Note, the company's most recent launch. It is believed that Samsung would choose to offer the Exynos for markets with 4G and the Qualcomm where that technology does not exist.
As for its casing, Samsung will follow in the footsteps of Apple, which offers the iPhone 5C in plastic and the 5S in metal on the market. At the same time, the South Korean would end criticism about the materials it uses to manufacture its most powerful smartphone.
Its Presentation
The presentation of the Samsung Galaxy S5, planned for March in London and with an arrival on the market a month later, will be accompanied by the Galaxy S5 mini and S5 Zoom models, the successor to the phone with an optical zoom lens that was launched in June 2013.
The Galaxy S5 would not arrive alone. The S5 mini is expected to arrive in May and the S5 Zoom in June. If so, the Galaxy S4 family would have a complete succession.
