The news doesn't just start with Apple skipping a number in the version of its smartphone, the iPhone Qi. Obviously this finish allows it to be resistant to water and dust like its predecessors.
Regarding the colors there will be no great variety: dark gray and silver.
Without the Home button
The iPhone X not only replaces the main button with the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, it now implements Face ID.
Face ID is a new security system that allows you to unlock the phone with a face scan.
Apple ensures that the Face ID system will work even in low light conditions, thanks to the fact that it uses an infrared camera combined with depth sensors to generate three-dimensional models of the user's face, and that it cannot be compromised with the use of a photo.
By not having the Home button, with a gesture with your thumb, from the bottom edge of the phone to the center, to be able to go to the main menu or the view of active applications, similar to the one used by the BlackBerry 10, you can activate the screen.
5.8 screen without frame
The first time iPhone will use a 5.8-inch OLED display with Super Retina technology.
It has a pixel density of 458 pixels per inch (ppi, in English), which is equivalent to a resolution of 2436 by 1125 pixels.
It maintains the 3D Touch system, implemented in previous models, and adds compatibility with content formatted in HDR, the new standard that is in most modern televisions and video streaming services.
Hardware
The striking thing about this version is undoubtedly that there are no new features in terms of hardware.
The iPhone well a small improvement over the iPhone 8 Plus; and a quad LED flash. It records video in 4K at 60 frames per second, and in Full HD at 240 frames per second.
Apple uses facial recognition hardware to allow selfies in which it achieves a separation from the background (that is, playing with the depth of field) similar to that allowed by a dual camera; It also enables the possibility of changing the lighting of the face (applying filters) without affecting the background.
When will it be available?
The iPhone X will be available on November 3rd in the United States, but can be pre-ordered starting October 27th.
Prices?
The iPhone X will have two versions:
- 64 GB of storage for US$999,
- and a 256 GB version for US$1149.
