The most widespread social networks have tools to manage the privacy of their users. The applications, too. WhatsApp, the most popular messaging service for mobile devices, allows, among other things, to block contacts directly. But perhaps this option has fallen short due to the dynamics taken in recent years in group chats.
According to the translation center of the test versions, the popular application, which hosts more than 900 million users around the world, is working on an option by which a user can be blocked only in group chats, thus preventing conversations from being distorted as a result of someone who, either because they are being funny or because of their out-of-place comments. The information has been interpreted by specialized media after observing test users how they translated messages such as "Could not block...", "you blocked...", "blocking...".
In any case, the solution that WhatsApp is considering to avoid having to opt for other alternatives (silence the group, for example) is to delete the messages sent by a specific person. However, the details revealed are rather scarce and it is unknown when this feature will be available and if the blocked user will be aware of it.
It would, therefore, be an option that we could call "Anti-spam" and would be available previously to devices based on the Android operating system, as has happened on previous occasions.
