Mobile technology has made many tasks easier for us. Email, instant messaging, photography and even quick medical diagnoses are possible thanks to the magic of smartphones and their applications.

But there are tasks that are still largely done by hand. Signing documents is one of them. They send us a form or notification and the entire procedure ends up being a cumbersome traffic of that paper. We have to print it, sign it with a pen, scan it and send it again.

We will try to avoid this from now on. Luckily for us, there are several apps that will greatly facilitate the task of sending a signed document, and we will only need our smartphone.

How do we sign a document that was sent to us from the cell phone? We are going to use an app that we loved, and it is called SignEasy. This small but powerful program is an excellent solution that does not require too many steps to embed our signature in a compatible file.

SignEasy allows us to import the document that we must sign directly from our email account or online storage sites such as Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive or Evernote. We simply have to choose "Open in" from the attached file and choose SignEasy. It's that easy.

Within the app we can establish different signatures, ours or third parties, and each one can contain (or not) the complete data of the subscriber, with date of birth and names, as well as a personal key and a signature color in case the document requires using a shade other than black.

The signatures of each user are saved in an encrypted storage. To create a new signature we use our finger or a stylus if our smartphone or tablet has one. Signed documents can be stored as templates that the user can reuse in the future, eliminating the need to rewrite the same document.

Each document imported into SignEasy is saved on the company's servers as proof of the signature. This is required by most countries that legally contemplate the use of electronic signatures. Due to this requirement, it is not possible to use the app if we do not create an account within the service. Signed documents, however, can be deleted at the user's request if we so wish.

Within the platform more than one user can interact with a document, which is shared among all the signatories or witnesses of the writing. After completing the signing process, we can close the file and export it to almost any app. We can also export it to cloud storage services if we want to store it outside the program.

Unlike other apps SignEasy is not limited to PDF documents, it also supports Word, Excel, HTML and JPEG image formats.

The app is available for iOS and Android and includes a limited number of possible signatures and documents free of charge. When we want to exceed the maximum we have to buy the premium subscription. For now the development is not available for Windows Phone.
