About XRP

XRP is not a competitor to well-known cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Litecoin, as it was created as an alternative to traditional money, while Ripple is a type of banking system with its own currency.

XRP is issued by Ripple Labs. The total number of XRP is 100 billion, and each unit of XRP is divided into 1 million parts called "drops".

XRP prices change based on supply and demand on the EXMO exchange. Ripple Labs, however, can also intervene while the change is occurring; as such, XRP is centralized and regulated.
