About Cardano

Cardano was founded in 2015 by Ethereum co-founder Charles Hoskinson.

Cardano uses proof-of-stake technology called Ouroboros, as opposed to Bitcoin and Ethereum, which use proof-of-work protocols.

The first entry in the blockchain and the longest blockchain (blockchain with the most computing power) are used to determine the honesty of the blockchain.

Cardano only uses the first entry in the blockchain, subsequently verifying the honesty of the chain locally without the need for a trusted third party.
