From Thursday, June 30 to Monday, July 4, the national domain registration system NIC.ar will be without a system. The reason is to carry out a technological change that will allow its systems to be integrated into a single processing platform developed by the Ministry of Modernization.

NIC Argentina, the body in charge of managing the registration of .ar Internet domains in Argentina, announced that it will make a scheduled outage from 8 pm next Thursday until 8 am on Monday, July 4. The reason: to integrate their systems into the new single platform for remote government procedures promoted by the Ministry of Modernization, and which will operate at argentina.gob.ar.

This is the reason, explained in NIC Argentina, why it will now be necessary to have the CUIT number and tax code (level 3) to operate in the registration, delegation and renewal of domain names.

As of implementation, domains that expire or have expired between the 1st of June and July 20 will have a grace period of 60 days from expiration. During the first 45 days the delegation will be active and during the last 15, inactive. If the domains are not renewed, they will be released.

According to NIC Argentina, "on the new platform the grace period for all domains will be made up of 30 days with active delegation and 15 days with inactive delegation. If before 06/30, the domain delegation was inactive, once the migration is completed, it will be activated until the end of 45 days from the expiration date."
