Google announced today that it will add one more advertising option to the notices that are seen before a video on YouTube when accessing the application from a cell phone. It is a 6-second video that cannot be skipped.
They will be called Bumper Ads and Google plans them for the generation Snapchat: short duration, a simple concept and serial construction (a story that is built with several ads over time).
Of course, not all videos will show them; is an advertising option that the company will offer its clients, which has an obvious appeal (for advertisers, but not for the user): it is an ad that cannot be skipped.
These new ads will begin to appear on videos watched on a smartphone within a month, and are a bet by YouTube to remain the king of video advertising.
In the US, YouTube is expected to make US$2 billion this year, compared to US$ 1.2 billion in 2014, but its market share will decrease to 20% due to greater competition, according to an eMarketer study.
