The application asks for permission to access the photos on the device. Once permission is granted, it creates albums with photos grouped according to the moment in which they were taken, discriminating between the people who appear in them. Apart from being able to give a title to each album, it makes suggestions with which other users can share them, in turn enabling an integrated chat with the participants.
Does Facebook force you to install it?
It is very likely that if your electronic device has the Facebook App installed, you have received an invitation to install it or in theory you could lose all the photos you have on your phone. If at any time you chose to automatically synchronize your photos with the social network, it is advisable to be cautious and do so.
The thing is, in 2012, Facebook offered users the possibility of having their images copied to a private album, called Synchronized Album. The idea was to easily share photos and save space, since the synchronized photos were hosted for free in the cloud. According to Facebook, starting July 7, it will delete those photos, unless you have downloaded the new Facebook Moments.
Other alternatives
If you are one of those people who does not allow yourself to be influenced by anything, you have another alternative. According to the instructions on Facebook's own help page, these are the steps to save synced photos:
- Go to your Facebook profile
- Click on "Photos"
- Click on "Synced from Phone"
- Choose the photos you are interested in
- Click on "options" under the photo and then click on "download" or "download" (download)
To rescue all synced photos at once, Facebook instructs you to go to the "synced from phone" section of "your photos" and click on the link to download all synced photos.
