As has been happening year after year, Twitter; just like the main social platforms; and under the hashtag #ThisHappened, he made a list of the most notable events of the year, around the world.

Of course, there was news that captivated the Argentine public, such as the first gold medal obtained by the Argentine Delegation in its participation in #Rio2016, where the judoka Paula Pareto reached the top of the podium.

#VamosArgentina was not far behind, it was one of the most used themes when the senior national soccer team participated in the #CopaAmérica and especially when they reached the final where they faced the Chilean team, unfortunately with victory for the trans-Andean team.

But the most outstanding theme of the year in Argentina was #NiUnaMenos. This hashtag was used to organize marches calling for people in various places in the country to express their repudiation of gender violence and femicides. A few days before the end of 2016 and according to the observatory of the organization MuMaLá (Women of the Latin American Motherland), the figures exceed 271 women murdered for their gender status.

Femicides:

271 femicides (12 linked femicides of women and girls, and 26 linked femicides of men and boys) and 8 transvestites November 20, a femicide is recorded every 30 hours, reaching its maximum expression in the month of October in which a femicide was recorded every 20 hours.

Links:

75% of the femicides were committed by men in the circle intimate partner of the victim, 12% acquaintances, 3% strangers, 10% no information.

Age of the victim - Age of the aggressor:

The age group between 21 and 50 years accounts for 52% of the registered femicides. 68% of the aggressors are between 19 and 60 years old.

4% were pregnant women
