At the level of numbers, I can tell you that Linkedin in December 2008 had 32 million users, today November 2011 has more than 135 million users and 1 million groups or forums, this gives us the idea that Linkedin is becoming another heavyweight of social networks.

But let's get to the specifics of this note.

To be able to create a profile or page of one company, as happens in most social networks, you must have created your profile as a person.

The general design is very good, pleasant and sober. The content is divided into two columns: content and sidebar (right side)

The content sector initially has 4 well-defined tabs:

  • Summary
  • Careers
  • Services
  • Analysis

Let's see a brief summary of what each of these tabs is about.

Summary

It has 3 functionality, Publish content similar to the person profile, upload a logo and add a brief description of the activity carried out by the company. It has a tab for the user profile that created the company, and a second tab with the employees who belong to it. At the end, a box with the latest activities related to the company.

Careers

In this section you can advertise jobs. It consists of a basic version and an advanced one, the latter usable for payment.

Services

In services you can upload each of the services offered by the company, with its respective photo, title and a brief description. Interested users by entering this section will be able to make recommendations regarding each of the detailed services.

From the administrator's point of view, you will be able to request recommendations from users and share them.

Analysis

Analysis, are the access statistics, for which you show four types of graphs, page views, unique visitors and number of clicks made on the products or services and finally the history of the users who follow the company.

The The sidebar or right side shows a summary of the quantified followers, a share button, the possibility of searching for contacts by an email account, and contact information for the company such as what type of company it is, the number of people who work there, a link with the web address of the company's official site, what sector or field it belongs to, and a map related to Google Maps with the precise location of the company.

Conclusion.

Although this change is quite positive compared to the previous version where beyond putting the name of the company and a brief description there were no more options, today it can be said that the update carried out is very promising. We just need to see how well it will position itself and if it will do so independently, but everything will depend on the users. As for the design and usability, they are impeccable.
