Mark Zuckerberg's social network has launched a series of updates that will gradually reach the entire world. The changes range from allowing users to better personalize their profile through mobile devices to more easily controlling security settings. And a large part of the more than 10 billion dollars in annual advertising revenue that Facebook receives is thanks to smartphones.

However, the option that has been most popular is the one that allows the use of videos as a profile photo. "This tool is similar to Vine, a video-sharing application owned by Twitter Inc," Reuters reports. The clips may have a maximum duration of seven seconds.

And that's not all. For users who want to support a charitable cause, for a specific time, they will be able to upload an image to be viewed for a short period. The provisional photograph will be automatically changed, in the time that the user decides, to the default one.

As for the security configuration. Now users will be able to more precisely choose which part of their information is public and which is only visible to "friends" or people who have been allowed to view the profile.
