About four months ago, Facebook launched a feature so that celebrities can make live broadcasts through the platform, without achieving any success.

However, Twitter, one of its biggest competitors at least for this functionality, achieved modest success with its App Periscope, which allows registered users to make video broadcasts in real time.

Now Facebook is enabling the same capability to anyone who uses its application. For now, the social network founded by Mark Zuckerberg will only make this function available to a limited number of users, but as it turns out, it won't be long until we all see this option on our smartphones.

Facebook's video broadcast, like Periscope, shows the number of users who are viewing the content in real time, the names of friends and comments as they are written.

A feature that differentiates the Facebook option is that the videos broadcast after they are finished will be saved. in the user's bio, so anyone can replay them.

The reasons why users wanted this functionality are different from those of celebrities. It has to do with being able to share special moments in people's lives with friends and family

As an additional novelty, the update that some users are receiving also allows sharing photo collages. Now we can create a mix of images and videos, organizing the content in grids.

For now these changes will be enabled only in the iOS app, the platform present on Apple iPhones, although the company plans to bring the functionality to Android users in the first months of 2016.
