Argentine students are the most interested in developing artificial intelligence projects, said the technology giant Microsoft, after holding a recruitment day and a series of talks in the country in which more than 200 students from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and the Technological Institute of Buenos Aires (ITBA) participated.
The idea of the meetings - held last week, for the tenth consecutive year - was to inspire university students in careers linked to science and technology to work with artificial intelligence, so that they participate in programming competitions and have the possibility of working at the company's headquarters, located in the American city of Redmond, the company indicated in a statement. Latin Americans who represent 5.5% of its total workforce, most of them occupy technical roles," said the multinational.
"I was delighted to see the level of the local students who immediately understood all the concepts we discussed. They asked excellent questions that enriched the debate and were very willing to learn more. I believe they will be able to take advantage of the advantages of machine learning to overcome the limits of what can currently be done with the software," considered the director of MIcrosoft Larry Benesh.
In this type of recruitment event, the company looks for people who have solid knowledge in computer science, analytical thinking, collaborative skills, passion for technology and innovation.
University students from careers related to science, technology, engineering, computing and mathematics participated in the programming competitions.
"Artificial intelligence and machine learning are transforming the way we make software and everything we could do with it. Microsoft's mission is to help organizations and developers take advantage of all these capabilities," said Benesh.
"We came to Argentina to visit students in careers related to computer science to help them learn a little more about tools and services, such as Cognitive Services, that will help them not only imagine but also build new ideas with software," he added.
